Job summary

A leading mushroom producer located in Dungannon is looking for a Health & Safety professional. This role involves implementing health and safety policies, conducting inspections and investigations, and delivering training. Candidates should have a NEBOSH certificate and relevant experience in a similar role. The position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic team committed to quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years previous experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant training qualification desired.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of health and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Conduct H&S inspections and investigations.
  • Deliver in-house training and manage external training bookings.

Skills

Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Flexibility with working times

Education

Degree in relevant discipline preferred
NEBOSH general certificate essential

Overall Purpose of The Role

Support the Company in implementing Health & Safety Policies & Procedures and meeting all legal obligations whilst ensuring the Health, Safety and well-being of our workforce.

Job Tasks and Duties
  • Adhere and work towards the company core values.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in employee handbook.
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers, supervisors and employees
  • Policy setting and implementation
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety Legislation
  • Conduct H&S inspections and investigations
  • Reporting
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and follow up action planning
  • Auditing – internal and assistance during external
  • Adhere to all health and safety practices
  • Delivery on in-house training, booking external training
  • Any other duties and reasonable tasks within your capability as set out by management.

Duties are not limited to those listed above.

Desirable / Qualities
  • Driving license and/or access to transport or ability to fulfill any driving requirements of the role
  • Good oral and written communication skills (Sufficient level of written and spoken English to maintain levels of safety)
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and coherently with other team members
  • Flexibility with working times to ensure consistency of policy implementation and servicing of audits/investigations etc.
Experience/ Qualification
  • Degree in relevant discipline preferred
  • NEBOSH general certificate essential
  • Relevant Training Qualification
  • 3-5 years previous experience in a similar role (or able to demonstrate adequate knowledge and ability to fulfil the role)
  • Experience in the food industry will be advantageous
