Health and Safety Manager (24 Month FTC)

Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a Principal Contractor who are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to oversee a major Data Centre project in Wendover. This role is overseeing a major Principal Contractor operation, so experience working with or interacting with Tier 1 contractors or clients is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Regularly visiting the site, advising operational managers to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the Health and Safety strategy.
• Conducting site audits to ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards.
• Preparing and presenting HSE reports to the senior management team.
• Leading accident investigations and incident reporting, including root cause analysis.
• Reviewing existing and new systems of work, identifying potential flaws or training needs to enhance the on‑site safety culture.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar role within construction, M&E, or Data Centre sectors.
• A NEBOSH/NCRQ Diploma, NVQ Level 5 (or equivalent), and ideally, Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH).
• Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated success in engaging with clients and contractors.
• Strong technical knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulations.
