Salary: Up to £53,000.00 per annum + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits.

Job Details

Irwin and Colton have been engaged by an established, leading construction and demolition contractor operating across the Northeast. With an annual group turnover of £100 million, they are now looking to recruit a senior Health and Safety Advisor. The successful candidate will be working across a range of projects, so previous multi‑site experience will be beneficial.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting regular site inspections and engagement visits to assess the effectiveness of SHEQ Management Systems, ensuring corrective actions are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Advising on the production of essential documentation and supporting operational teams in applying SHEQ Management Systems, policies, procedures, and processes to enhance awareness and capability.
  • Ensuring incidents and near misses are effectively managed, reported, investigated, and subjected to root cause analysis, supporting operational teams in embedding lessons learned.
  • Preparing and disseminating SHEQ Alerts, Bulletins, and other communication campaigns.
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH General and / or NEBOSH Construction or equivalent Health and Safety Qualification with a minimum of Tech IOSH membership.
  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in the demolition industry, with expertise in construction and demolition activities.
  • In‑depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in demolition, including detailed knowledge and experience of CDM.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with strong written and oral communication skills.
