Description
V.Ships Leisure is looking for Head Waiter on behalf of Orient Express Sailing Yachts.
The Head Waiter assists the Maitre D’ in the supervision of Restaurant personnel to ensure total guest satisfaction regarding food quality, service, and hygiene standards. The Head Waiter contributes to the success of his/her assigned area by performing a variety of operational, financial, and motivational tasks, supervising a team of waiters and busboys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervision of waiters and busboys in an assigned section, to ensure that service delivered to guests exceeds expectations.
  • Greets Guests at their assigned table and introduces himself as well as his team.
  • Follows-up on service satisfaction through the guest’s meals.
  • Checks on service efficiency at all times, manages such if needed in coordination with the Galley.
  • Presents the menus, using story-telling to foster a unique and on-brand atmosphere within the restaurant venue.
  • Champions excellence in performance with his team and colleagues, always looking for ways to further improve service levels and guest experience.
  • Leader of an assigned section, who takes full responsibility on mise-en-place, service protocols and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Performs monthly inventories as per protocol.
  • Partake in embarkation duty, as directed, including but not limited to luggage assistance, escorting Guests and any other related duties; participate in loading and off-loading, as assigned or directed.
  • Participate in “departmental briefings” every day to understand your team’s operational needs and to ensure consistent adherence to Service Standards.
  • Prepare and perform F&B activities (i.e. cocktail parties and Tea Time) and special events, as assigned.
  • Coaches and trains service personnel as needed.
  • Active participation in onboard training programs.

Education/Experience/Qualifications:
  • Languages: Fluent English.
  • Education: High school degree or related.
  • Previous professional experience: 2 – 3 years in a similar capacity in a luxury environment.
  • Shipboard experience: Not required but preferred.
  • Valid STCW certificates.
  • Valid Pre-Employment Medical.
  • C1D visa mandatory for all positions.
