Role Overview

We are looking for an excellent practitioner in Economics, Psychology or Sociology to lead, manage, develop and be accountable for the departmental team including the curriculum at Key Stages 4 & 5. The successful candidate will work closely with the 6th Form team to deliver outstanding outcomes for pupils.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the department to a high standard of teaching, learning and pupil achievement.
  • Develop curriculum at Key Stages 4 & 5, ensuring consistency, breadth and depth.
  • Analyse pupil progress and implement improvement strategies.
  • Co‑operate with colleagues, parents and the wider community to support pupils’ development.
  • Reflect regularly on the school’s strengths and areas for development in order to continue to thrive.
  • Represent the department at university and exam boards.
Qualifications
  • Qualified teacher with a proven and demonstrable track record of success at A Level.
  • Good understanding of current educational developments, especially classroom‑based practice.
  • Highest expectations of students and a positive, enthusiastic approach inside and beyond the classroom.
  • Energy, stamina and a sense of humour.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
