Head of M&E – Building Services

Location: Milton Keynes (Office-Based – Some Flex)
Salary: £150,000 + Car Allowance + Commission / Bonus

About the Company

Our client is a well-established and fast-growing M&E Building Services contractor based just outside Milton Keynes. With a current annual turnover of approximately £10 million (£6 million Electrical / £4 million Mechanical), the business has ambitious plans to reach £50 million within the next five years.

Operating across high-profile Government (SC cleared), NHS, and commercial projects, the company is built on a foundation of strong financial stability, a robust cash flow, and an excellent workplace culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and success.

The Role

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and commercially astute Head of M&E to play a leading role in shaping the company’s next phase of growth. You will take overall responsibility for the performance of the M&E divisions, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably. This position requires a strong leader who combines technical expertise with strategic and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full ownership of company P&L, ensuring consistent growth and profitability.
  • Provide leadership and direction to both Electrical and Mechanical teams.
  • Manage and develop key client relationships within Government, NHS, and commercial sectors.
  • Oversee delivery of multiple projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and financial performance.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective processes and resource management.
  • Utilise and develop existing supply chain and subcontractor networks (existing relationships advantageous).
  • Opportunity to bring your own team if desired.
  • Work closely with senior management to shape strategic business direction and support expansion plans.
About You
  • Proven leadership experience within the M&E Building Services industry.
  • Strong commercial background, ideally having managed or grown a multi-million-pound operation.
  • Excellent understanding of both mechanical and electrical building services delivery.
  • Established network of suppliers, contractors, and clients (advantageous).
  • Results-driven, ambitious, and committed to achieving both personal and company success.
  • Able to commute to the Milton Keynes area with flexibility to travel (travel requirements will vary).
