A leading defense contractor in the UK seeks a Head of Logistics to oversee the logistics strategy across multiple sites, manage end-to-end operations including UK and international transportation, and improve cost and service efficiency. A new opportunity has arisen for a Head of Logistics to lead our end-to-end warehousing and logistics capability. This will include UK and International transportation, goods receipt and despatch, Warehouse management, inventory control, kitting and infrastructure investment.
Working directly for the Supply Chain Director, you will be accountable for setting the logistics strategy, leading on best practice, driving business improvement and responding to business need including optimisation of footprint, 3PL/4PL tenders, customer asset control and oversight of external partners.
Working in a matrix organisation you will lead an Organisational Design review for Warehousing and Logistics and lead the future functional operating model: 150+ people, ~£350m of company and customer owned assets, over 6 sites across the UK.
This an excellent opportunity in a growing business which will also enable you to work across the Sector and Group Logistics teams to help define the strategy for the UK enterprise.
