Head of Infrastructure (Fully Remote)

Charles Simon Associates are recruiting an experienced Head of Infrastructure to join a well‑established, market‑leading organisation on a permanent, fully remote basis. This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to shape infrastructure strategy while staying close to delivery in a heavily outsourced environment.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on infrastructure leader who excels in vendor management, service delivery, and team leadership, and who enjoys operating at both strategic and operational levels.

Key Responsibilities - Head of Infrastructure

• Lead and manage a small team of Senior Delivery Managers across multiple infrastructure programmes
• Own relationships with 3rd party suppliers, MSPs, and technology vendors
• Drive service delivery excellence for infrastructure operations and BAU services
• Create and manage RFPs, vendor selection processes, and commercial evaluations
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership when escalation is required
• Partner with the CIO to define and deliver the 3‑5 year IT infrastructure roadmap
• Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure efficiency, resilience, and cost optimisation

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven senior infrastructure leadership experience (Head of Infrastructure / Infrastructure Manager / Infrastructure Lead)
• Experience leading 3‑4 senior managers
• Extensive 3rd party vendor and supplier management expertise
• Experience in outsourced or hybrid infrastructure environments
• Broad knowledge across infrastructure and wider IT technologies
• Demonstrated experience with RFP processes and vendor selection
• Able to balance strategic planning with hands‑on involvement
