We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Head of Data Engineering and Informatics to join the Infectious Diseases Data Observatory (IDDO), at the Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health, University of Oxford. You will play a leading role in IDDO's ongoing development, working closely with IDDO's Directors and the wider leadership team to establish IDDO's data strategy, and ensure delivery against that vision.
You will plan and execute initiatives to drive the strategic vision of IDDO as part of the leadership team, working both strategically and operationally within the organisation to consolidate and enhance the data and technology landscape and anticipate and advise on future technology changes that present opportunities for IDDO and its end-users. You will remain abreast of new developments in data science and data visualisation, in particular the use of machine learning and AI tools, and their application to IDDO's model. You will be responsible for maintaining secure data upload and data sharing systems in line with data protection legislation and the University policies and regulations, and for understanding and responding to organisational and end-user requirements and translating these into effective data management and informatics solutions and services.
