We are recruiting a Head of Construction for a global engineering leader specialising in combustion and environmental solutions.

This is a unique, senior-level opportunity to build and lead a new Construction function from the ground up. Starting at the company’s UK headquarters, the successful candidate will design and develop the team, systems, and procedures before transitioning into a globally mobile leadership role across key EMEA projects.

With a world-class portfolio of burners, flares, incinerators, and environmental control systems, the company delivers complex construction and installation projects across the oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, and industrial sectors.

Projects are delivered under LSTK (Lump Sum Turnkey) contracts, meaning the EMEA Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing full project delivery, from design and procurement to construction and commissioning, ensuring accountability, efficiency, and technical excellence at every stage.

As the Head of Construction EMEA, you’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of on-site construction delivery across multiple high-value international projects. From strategic planning and subcontractor management to site execution and client handover, your work will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to world-class standards.

This EMEA Construction Manager will establish the structure and capability of the construction function before assuming responsibility for on-site leadership across EMEA once operations are in place.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and structure a high-performing EMEA Construction Team from the ground up.

  • Manage complex LSTK site-based construction projects from planning to handover.

  • Oversee the full turnkey scope, including design integration, procurement coordination, construction management, and final commissioning.

  • Collaborate closely with Application Engineers across all product groups and global locations to ensure cohesive execution of site works.

  • Identify and prioritise areas of strategic growth and high-value execution opportunities.

Subcontractor & Vendor Management

  • Appoint and oversee regional subcontractors across EMEA.

  • Negotiate commercial terms and ensure subcontractor performance meets KPI and safety standards.

Commercial & Client Interface

  • Manage project budgets, reporting, and earned value tracking.

  • Interface with clients across all stages of construction, ensuring deliverables meet expectations.

  • Represent the company’s technical excellence in all external communications.

Strategic & Operational Influence

  • Develop forecasts of upcoming LSTK work by working closely with Application Engineers across global teams and product groups.

  • Identify focus areas for growth and delivery of site execution to support business development strategy.

  • Shape long-term EMEA construction strategy in collaboration with senior leadership.

  • Standardise systems and processes to ensure repeatable project success.

  • Lead performance optimisation initiatives across the region.

About You

  • Proven experience in leading LSTK (Lump Sum Turnkey) construction projects within oil & gas or complex industrial environments (essential).

  • Strong commercial acumen and confident in contract negotiations and cost control.

  • Demonstrated success in building and managing international or multi-site construction teams.

  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and health & safety in complex industrial environments.

  • Confident communicator and capable leader, able to influence at all levels.

  • Willing and able to be onsite full-time in Rutland during the setup phase.

  • Willing to travel extensively across EMEA and commit to long periods working overseas.

  • Previous experience delivering projects in the EMEA region or globally is highly desirable.
