Overview

Head of Commercial – Location: Home-based with weekly travel across South England and fortnightly meetings in Birmingham. Contract: Permanent, Full Time. Salary: £110,000 + Company Car/Car Allowance + Benefits.

Are you a sharp commercial strategist who thrives on driving growth, unlocking value, and shaping the future of business operations? We are looking for an experienced Head of Commercial to lead on strategy, compliance, and stakeholder engagement for a major accommodation and facilities management contract supporting the Defence estate.

Responsibilities
  • Spearhead cost-saving initiatives, revenue-generation strategies, and risk management frameworks to ensure long-term success.
  • Oversee supplier partnerships, ensuring performance, compliance, and value for money.
  • Act as the trusted authority on commercial, legal, and procurement matters across the business.
  • Strengthen risk management frameworks, covering financial, operational, and technical areas.
  • Drive forward sustainability goals, embedding greener practices and carbon reduction measures into project delivery.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders at every level, becoming the go-to commercial partner for client teams.
What We're Looking For
  • A commercially savvy leader with a graduate-level background in law, surveying, or the built environment (chartered status desirable).
  • Proven track record in commercial leadership, ideally within housing, facilities, or a related sector.
  • Strong knowledge of UK contract and commercial law, with experience of complex negotiations and contract management.
  • Excellent financial acumen, with the ability to model risks, interpret data, and turn insights into action.
  • Confidence in building trusted relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
