Job description

Want to join a team of passionate people who want to build a future where no one dies from skin cancer?

👋 About us

Skin Analytics is an award‑winning, health tech company that works with dermatology teams to deploy world‑leading skin cancer pathways using AI as a medical device, DERM. Following our recent £15M series B funding round and regulatory milestones, we’re ready to scale internationally, making history for AI in healthcare and the future of dermatology. We’re proud to epitomise AI for good – with a Class III CE mark, DERM is the only AI as a medical device approved to make clinical decisions autonomously in the cancer space, and the first company to receive a NICE recommendation for use across the NHS.* DERM is deployed at more than 25 NHS organisations where we’re supporting dermatology teams to build sustainable services that enable patients to gain quicker access to skin cancer diagnosis. If that’s not enough, we also collaborate with some of the largest health insurers to reach patients in their own homes. We are a team of passionate people on a mission to build a future where no one dies from skin cancer.

🏢 London based - Hybrid (3 days a week in the office if FTE, 2 days min if 4 days a week)
🔎 As the Head of Clinical Safety & Governance, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining the highest standards of clinical safety and governance across our digital health portfolio and clinical services. Reporting to the VP‑Medical, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational delivery of clinical services, ensuring our products and pathways meet rigorous clinical risk management standards across NHS, private, and international healthcare markets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance
    • Oversee proactive and reactive clinical risk assessments across the product portfolio, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution of clinical incidents.
    • Lead the development of comprehensive safety cases for new products and features from concept through to market launch.
    • Maintain strategic oversight of clinical risk management documentation and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
    • Partner with Product, AI, and Technology teams to embed safety considerations throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Clinical Governance & Operations
    • Design and monitor safety KPIs and metrics, identify systemic risks and drive organisational improvements.
    • Oversee clinical audit programmes and translate findings into actionable improvements.
    • Develop and maintain clinical safety policies, SOPs, and governance structures that support audit‑readiness for Care Systems Regulators.
    • Manage post‑deployment monitoring activities, including trend analysis of complaints and safety signals across deployed pathways.
What we’re looking for
  • Registered health‑care professional permitted to practice in the UK (medicine, pharmacy, nursing, paramedicine) with clinical experience, actively registered with GMC, NMC, or equivalent body.
  • Completed appropriate training such as NHS Digital’s Clinical Safety Training including Practitioner Training; practical experience in risk management and its application to clinical domains as applied to Health IT Systems, particularly NHS Digital’s Clinical Safety Standard DCB 0129 and/or DCB 0160.
  • Critical appraisal and logical reasoning skills.
  • Great written communication skills to work on client materials.
  • Great verbal communication skills to communicate both internally and externally regarding customer safety queries.
  • Active participation in CQC (or other Care System Regulator) inspection.
Nice to have (but we can teach you)
  • Experience of Clinical Risk Management in the manufacturing of a Health IT Solution (DCB 0129) for a supplier.
  • Experience of conducting clinical risk management activities in an appropriate clinical setting.
  • Experience working across multiple healthcare systems—such as private healthcare or international markets—highly valued, and the ability to translate regulatory requirements across different jurisdictions.
