Job Title: Head of CASS Oversight

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: London

Working style: Hybrid 50% home / office based

Join us at Royal London Asset Management in this exciting opportunity as Head of CASS Oversight. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer this is one of four key leadership positions within the Finance function. You will lead a small team and provide first-line oversight and support for all CASS-related matters across RLAM and its associated companies. This includes monitoring processes undertaken by third-party administrators and ensuring compliance with CASS and CMAR reporting regulations.

This role will also be responsible for developing implementing and maintaining an effective first-line control framework.

About the role

Provide ongoing oversight of CASS processes both internally and those undertaken by our third party suppliers. To include regular sampling of for example client money and client asset reconciliations and mandate compliance.

Ensure relevant risks are captured and compliance with CASS related actions are completed.

Ensure all regulatory CMAR returns and CASS firm classifications are delivered on time and accurately.

Production and development of CASS Management Information and reporting to the relevant Boards and Executive Committee.

Advise the Directors senior management and business on all regulatory developments in relation to client money and safe custody assets.

Operate as deputy to the SMF with CASS responsibility having a direct reporting line into the SMF / CFO.

Manage issues arising to ensure a positive audit outcome for the business.

Responsible for owning the risks faced by their business area managing the control framework and implementing and embedding all elements of the Risk Management System (RMS)

About you

Technical expertise in client money and a strong understanding of CASS regulations and processes within asset management.

Experience of managing small teams and leading change in the CASS environment.

Detailed knowledge and understanding of the CASS and CMAR section of the SUP sourcebook.

A detailed understanding of the operational processes of an asset management business.

Previous experience of managing audit processes.

Excellent communication and influencing skills capable of delivering to senior Directors.

Proven ability to challenge.

Tenacious.

Manage relationships effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders.
