Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the bar team are well presented and punctual.
  • Communicate staff issues to the general manager.
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
  • Train new staff and oversee existing team members.
  • Take ownership of shifts and clarify team roles.
  • Ensure drinks are made to spec and served timely.
  • Maintain the right ambiance and atmosphere.
  • Engage with every guest to ensure satisfaction.
  • Complete stock and cleaning in line with EHO standards.
  • Assist with menu development and cocktail training.

SMOKESTAK is a London-based barbecue restaurant with a focus on slow smoked meats, inspired by the founder’s Barbadian roots around open fire grilling, and honed by a pilgrimage around the southern states of America. Originally starting out as a street food trader, SMOKESTAK has evolved into a thriving restaurant with slow cooked meats on a wood fire smoker at its core. Since its founding over 10 years ago, SMOKESTAK has grown into a staple in the London food scene. Its brick-and-mortar site in Shoreditch remains unique in its offering, aesthetic, and vibe: bold, moody, memorable. About the role.

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic head bartender to join our established team to support our general manager in the day-to-day running's of our bar. The ideal candidate will have a natural warmth for people and feed off the adrenalin of a busy service. Responsibilities.
  • Ensuring the bar team are well presented, in clean uniforms and arrive on time for their shifts.
  • Bringing any staff issues or problems to the general manager's attention.
  • Ensure the daily and weekly cleaning schedules are completed by the team and highlight any maintenance issues to the management team.
  • Staff training, ongoing of current staff, overseeing all new starters ensuring they have every opportunity to succeed and enjoy their new Job.
  • Take ownership of the shift, and ensure the team know their roles.
  • Ensure all drinks are beautifully made to spec and go out to the table in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining the right ambience and atmosphere in the bar.
  • Every guest is spoken to as soon as they sit down, and every guest leaves happy.
  • Stock up and cleaning is completed in line with EHO standards.
  • Assisting with menu development, cocktail training sessions and drink passions.
