Healthcare Assistant (HCA) - Permanent Position

Location: Cambridge

Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday - 8:00am to 1:00pm

Pay: £12.93 - £13.25 per hour (DOE)

I am working with a well-established GP Practice in Cambridge who are seeking a Permanent Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join their clinical team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HCA looking for a stable part‑time role within a supportive primary care environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will support the practice's clinical team and contribute to high-quality patient care. Typical General Practice duties include:

  • Phlebotomy
  • Blood pressure monitoring and general observations
  • ECGs
  • NHS Health Checks
  • Wound care and dressings
  • Height, weight & BMI checks
  • Smoking cessation and lifestyle advice
  • Urine dipstick testing
  • Support with chronic disease reviews
  • Assisting in seasonal vaccination clinics
  • Maintaining infection control standards
  • Accurate record‑keeping on clinical systems

Previous experience working as an HCA within a GP surgery is strongly preferred, and relevant competencies are essential.
