Hair & Beauty Instructor - Alternative Provision
Location: Preston
Days: Monday - Thursday
Start: As soon as possible
Contract: Part-time, long-term

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a creative, engaging and confident Hair and Beauty Instructor to join a dynamic Alternative Provision setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about vocational learning and supporting young people who may not thrive in mainstream education.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver engaging Hair and Beauty sessions to small groups of learners
  • Teach practical skills such as styling, basic treatments, hygiene and salon standards
  • Motivate and inspire learners who may have SEMH needs or barriers to learning
  • Provide a nurturing, patient and encouraging environment
  • Plan and deliver lessons that build confidence, skills and employability
  • Work collaboratively with pastoral and behaviour teams to support individual needs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience teaching or delivering Hair & Beauty in a school, college, salon or training setting
  • Relevant qualifications in Hair and Beauty
  • Experience working with young people, ideally in alternative or SEMH settings
  • A positive, resilient and flexible approach
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting every learner's progress
