Overview

I am pleased to be exclusively working with our client who are a large, fast-paced and dynamic group headquartered in Bishop’s Stortford. With diverse operations, the business offers an excellent environment for technically strong finance professionals seeking broad exposure and career development within a high-performing team. This is a technically focused Group Reporting Accountant position with wide exposure across the business. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll take ownership of group consolidations, statutory reporting, and technical accounting, while supporting senior leadership with high-quality financial insight and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver the monthly group consolidation and support management reporting.
  • Lead the year-end financial reporting process, including statutory accounts and audit coordination.
  • Manage the relationship with external auditors, ensuring a smooth and timely audit process.
  • Monitor and implement updates to IFRS and UK GAAP, ensuring compliance across the group.
  • Support acquisition/disposal accounting, group restructures and ad hoc technical projects.
  • Partner with teams across the business to improve reporting quality and consistency.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements to streamline reporting.
About You
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent), ideally trained in a top-tier practice or a complex group environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of consolidation, financial reporting, and IFRS/UK GAAP.
  • Proven experience in group accounts preparation and liaising with external auditors.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to develop within a growing and supportive team.
