Job description

Vickerstock is delighted to be partnering with a leading UK farmer‑owned dairy cooperative to recruit a talented and proactive Group Packaging Technologist on a maternity cover basis for their Belfast based Head Office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic procurement team, working across multiple sites to deliver innovative packaging solutions and sustainability initiatives.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will play a central role in packaging development, supporting new product launches, optimisation projects, and sustainability improvements:

What your day to day will look like:
  • Lead packaging projects from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with supply chain and consumer needs.
  • Manage product change procedures for packaging, including stakeholder and supplier engagement, production trials, and documentation.
  • Deliver cost reduction initiatives to support budget improvements.
  • Approve and maintain packaging specifications, ensuring full legal compliance.
  • Monitor relevant legislation and support the organisation's sustainability strategy.
What you will need to succeed:
  • Minimum 2 years' FMCG packaging experience or 3 years in a food manufacturing in quality or technical
  • Relevant honours degree (or equivalent) with experience in packaging materials, structural design, and print processes.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to identify and manage risk to deliver projects on time.
  • Knowledge of supply chain challenges, legislation, and sustainability requirements.
  • Proficiency in Excel and a valid driving license.
