Group Head of Sales – Mad Swans

Mad Swans is looking for a proactive, positive and energetic Group Head of Sales to lead all commercial efforts for our new hospitality brand centred around sport, hospitality and sustainability. The role involves spearheading launch activities, driving revenue, and scaling our presence across key markets.

Job Summary

As Group Head of Sales, you will develop go‑to‑sales strategies, build brand awareness, and manage a lean commercial team that will grow as the business expands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own overall budgeted and planned sales revenue.
  • Lead, develop and oversee a small sales team and build new teams across multiple properties.
  • Drive B2B and B2C sales across corporate, group, and leisure segments.
  • Actively generate revenue and execute sales initiatives.
  • Convert individual and group enquiries into bookings with high conversion efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Head of Topflight, Gym & Racquets Manager, and operational teams to align goals.
  • Set up systems and processes for sales, events, and reservations.
  • Establish key partnerships and secure early wins to build momentum.
  • Manage and support on‑property events and reservations teams to deliver world‑class customer service.
  • Design and deliver all sales and events process standards for all sites.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase bookings for rooms, events, and packages.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities for weddings, corporate retreats, and local partnerships.
  • Conduct site visits and client show‑rounds to promote the venue’s offerings.
  • Present proposals, quotations, and contracts to clients.
  • Maintain a sales database and track leads, inquiries, conversions, and pipeline activity.
  • Attend wedding fairs, trade shows, and local networking events on behalf of Mad Swans.
  • Work with marketing to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Align local and national sales efforts with brand‑level strategy.
  • Coordinate cross‑property promotions, events, and media opportunities.
  • Monitor KPIs including RevPAR, ADR, and direct channel performance.
Qualifications
  • Minimum five years of hospitality sales leadership.
  • Proven experience with brand launches and multi‑property new openings.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution skills and team leadership ability.
  • Hands‑on approach and willingness to get stuck in.

Location & Travel
  • Primary base: Mad Swans, Mendips (Bristol) with flexibility within the South of the UK.
  • Must travel regularly to all existing and future sites (Bristol, Alton, Exeter, Farnham, London).
  • Own vehicle required; overnight stays may be required on occasion.
  • Core office hours with occasional evenings and weekend work possible.
Salary & Commission
  • £70,000‑£75,000 per annum plus an attractive, uncapped commission scheme with no upper limit.
