Overview

Graduate Teaching Assistant – Immediate start until July 2026. £80 - £90 per day. 1:1 and small group support in Year 5 at a "Good" 2-form entry primary school in Edgbaston.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted interventions for Year 5 pupils who require additional support to reach academic goals.
  • Assist with classroom activities and provide one-to-one guidance to help pupils develop skills in core subjects.
  • Contribute to boosting pupil confidence and support transition planning into Year 6.
The Candidate
  • You should hold a degree in any subject and have a genuine passion for working with children.
  • A supportive attitude, clear communication skills, and the ability to engage pupils are essential.
  • Any previous experience working with young people—particularly in a school or tutoring capacity—will enhance your application.
Requirements
  • Degree - a 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication - clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS - must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children - genuine interest in supporting learning and progressing into teaching.
  • Experience working with children - relevant experience such as tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
