A local government council in England is seeking a Surveyor to join its Investment Property Team. The role involves supporting the delivery of various property initiatives, managing projects, and collaborating with professionals from multiple disciplines. Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree and may be working toward RICS membership. The position offers a dynamic work environment within a large organisation focused on community development.
An opportunity has arisen for a Surveyor to work within the Investment Property Team, within the Economy and Place Directorate at Sunderland City Council.
The successful candidate will play a key part of the City Council’s Investment Property Team, supporting in the delivery of a range of disposal, acquisition, development, professional and asset management casework for Sunderland City Council and Siglion (the wholly owned Council development and Investment company).
You will be a member of the team supporting senior members of staff in the delivery of the City Council’s property plan and work closely with officers, solicitors, planners, engineers, appointed agents and other professionals.
You will support in the delivery of a programme of City wide opportunities and help manage all phases of all cases within the team.
We are looking for someone with a relevant degree together with membership of, or training towards, an appropriate professional body (e.g. RICS). Some experience in commercial real estate would be beneficial although not essential. In addition, an understanding of delivering real estate solutions in a local government environment and across all use classes would be desirable.
The successful candidate should be an organised individual with the ability to meet deadlines and work across different projects at any one time.
Ideally you will be able to demonstrate continuous improvement and be keen to work for a large dynamic organisation as it aims to deliver an ambitious City Plan.
