Cundall’s Planning team pride ourselves on our exemplary track record of providing comprehensive and well-informed advice on a broad range of projects. The growing team is led from Newcastle, with developing presence in our London and Edinburgh offices. The team provides planning consultancy services across the UK and internationally.

The Planning team provide an integrated service including pre application discussions covering planning, environmental impact assessments and transportation inputs – and offer a pro-active and collaborative approach to skill development, and professional excellence.

The Role You'll Play

This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Planning Consultant to join the specialist Planning group in Newcastle but will also be opportunities to assist on projects across the UK and beyond.

Working closely with colleagues you will carry out public consultation and prepare specialist reports including planning statements, sustainability reports, heritage statements, site waste management plans, sequential tests, health impact assessments and environmental impact assessments for a wide range of developments including urban regeneration schemes, residential projects, education schemes and leisure projects.

You will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop and will be supported towards Chartership. The team is accredited as a Royal Town Planning Institute Learning Partner, affirming our commitment to professional development.

The Skills You'll Bring
  • On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree.
  • You will have completed a Town Planning BEng/MEng degree course which is accredited by either the Royal Town Planning Institute or Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (Planning and Development only).
  • You have a real interest in Planning and the built environment, and crucially - have a thirst for personal development and career progression.
  • You have a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, are able to manage your own time to meet deadlines and you have an appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions.
  • Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
