Graduate Civil Engineering Technician
The Role

The purpose of this role is to offer technical support to our projects within the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support during the construction and project close-out phases
  • Support the design, planning and execution of construction projects within the region
  • Prepare technical drawings, designs and plans using AutoCAD
  • Assist in the preparation of design calculations and specifications in line with project requirements
  • Undertakes setting out of construction works to ensure accuracy and adherence to project plans
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential issues, providing timely resolutions where required
  • Address any design issues identified during the construction phase
  • Supervises the work of contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and plans any remedial work where required.
  • Ensure current revisions of drawings are being used on site
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications
Health, Safety & Environmental
  • Ensure construction activities adhere to UK Building Regulations, environmental standards and health and safety requirements
  • Carry out risk assessments
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities to obtain relevant permits and ensure project compliance
  • Comply with company procedures and legal obligations
Technical Support
  • Support Civil Engineers in preparing project documentation, including reports, schedules and cost estimates
  • Interpret technical drawings and guide site teams to ensure clarity and accuracy
About you
Essential
  • Degree/HNC qualified, or equivalent, in civil engineering
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of construction methods and processes, and civil engineering principles
  • Experience in using AutoCAD and MS Office
  • Attention to detail with a proactive approach to identify and resolve issues
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to liaise effectively with both clients and staff
