Main duties and responsibilities
  • Chronic Disease management (Diabetes, COPD & Asthma)
  • Routine and child immunisations
  • Wound care and dressings
  • Travel vaccinations
  • Cervical cytology
  • Knowledge of Quality & Outcomes Framework (QOF)
  • Experience of working with Locally Commissioned Services & Direct Enhanced Services
  • Implement and embed health promotion and wellbeing programmes
  • Prioritise health issues and intervene appropriately
  • Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies
  • Implement vaccination programmes for adults and children
  • Ensure compliance with the practice chaperone policy
  • Ear irrigation
  • Participate in clinical audits
  • Implement nursing protocols in conjunction with the Nursing Team
Qualifications and Experience
  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Diploma level or higher qualification
  • Essential experience in a primary care environment
  • Desirable: Non-Medical prescriber
