The Governance team is a group of talented and ambitious colleagues who directly influence, manage, and shape Magna’s governance agenda. We are seeking an enthusiastic and conscientious Governance Officer to support the Governance Manager and the broader team in delivering a high‑standard governance service, ensuring Magna’s adherence to regulatory requirements, adopted codes and recognised best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Support Governance processes ensuring that they are implemented in accordance with Magna’s Rules, Governance Framework, policies, and best practice, providing Governance advice to the Strategic and Executive Boards.
  • Deliver comprehensive administrative support to the Strategic Board, its Committees and the Executive Board, by managing future agendas, collecting and distributing meeting documents, and preparing accurate minutes along with reports on actionable items.
  • Assist the Governance Manager, deputising when necessary, to implement and oversee robust governance processes, ensuring Magna’s compliance with regulatory standards and adopted codes are maintained at the highest possible regulatory rating.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping, maintain and manage formal records such as minutes of meetings and registers.
  • Support the Governance Manager with reports, briefings and research on best practices for board and committee meetings, as well as assisting with Board Member recruitment and training.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Extensive experience in business administration at Board level within large or complex organisations, including the ability to accurately document detailed minutes of complex meetings and capture clear, concise action points.
  • Exhibits outstanding organisational abilities, effectively managing multiple stakeholders, anticipating needs and prioritising tasks with meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrates autonomy and initiative but embraces teamwork and collaboration when appropriate.
  • Demonstrates an in‑depth knowledge of corporate governance practices, appreciates their significance to the organisation, and is well‑versed in policies and legislation pertaining to compliance and regulation.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification or experience; a CGI (Corporate Governance Institute) qualification or part qualification would be considered advantageous.

Salary & Location

Salary £42,548 per annum plus additional benefits. Location: Home‑based with occasional travel to Magna Offices. This is a 37 hours per week, Temporary vacancy that will close in a specified number of days.
