A leading UK university in Chichester is seeking a part-time Governance Officer to provide operational and administrative support. The role involves ensuring effective communication between the Senior Leadership Team and governing bodies, taking minutes for meetings, and facilitating onboarding. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and a degree or equivalent experience. Part Time: 29.6 hours per week (0.8 FTE)
Salary £32,080 to 34,610 per annum Pro rata £25,664 to £27,688 per annum
The Governance Officer will provide high level, initiative-taking, efficient, effective and confidential operational and administrative and project support working closely with the Head of Governance to ensure the safeguarding of the University's reputation for good governance practice and regulatory obligations.
You will ensure the timely and effective flow of information between the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Academic Board and the Board of Governors and provide support to their respective sub-committees. Examples of tasks include taking minutes for a range of meetings, facilitating Governor onboarding, arranging interviews and meetings with the Senior Leadership Team and Chair of Governors, and completing regulatory checks.
You will have a good general education to degree level or equivalent significant relevant experience and be able to demonstrate a high standard of literacy, numeracy, and attention to detail. You will need to work in a collaborative way with good interpersonal and communication skills, a professional manner, and the ability to build relationships, use tact and respect confidentiality whilst being approachable.
