Global Quality & Regulatory Director

Reporting to the President of Operations, the Global Quality & Regulatory Director plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping and delivering our global Quality and Regulatory strategy, with a particular focus on our Pharmaceutical business. This position blends high‑level strategic direction with hands‑on delivery, whilst driving a progressive and mature quality culture across all regions.

This is a role where you will be influencing, often without direct line responsibility, from shop floor to Executive committee level therefore prior experience leading large regional or global quality strategies in the Pharma sector is essential.

Who we’re looking for:
  • Prior experience in regional or global quality leadership roles, with deep knowledge of regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical sector (GMP, API).
  • Resilient and collaborative, able to shape and execute strategy while embedding accountability to deliver multi‑year objectives.
  • Strong business acumen and able to balance commercial and technical considerations to manage risk and reward in product quality, safety, and compliance.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, skilled at engaging senior leadership and local Quality/Regulatory teams to embrace group strategy.
  • Authentic and compassionate in communication style, capable of articulating a compelling global strategy narrative and leading through a matrix organisation.
  • Excellent people leader who can identify, coach and mentor talent across the quality and regulatory function.
  • Highly adaptable, with proven ability to lead across diverse businesses and regions, identifying and respecting cross‑cultural sensitivities, particularly in change environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and continuously evolve Croda’s global quality and regulatory strategy, to position Croda as a trusted partner and drive ongoing improvements in product quality, compliance, safety, and customer experience.
  • Anticipate regulatory changes in the Consumer Care and Life Sciences markets. Leverage these insights to influence business strategy across the entire product lifecycle from innovation and marketing to end‑of‑life.
  • Represent Croda externally with key multinational customers, government bodies, and trade associations, advocating for Croda’s interests and defending technologies and products.
  • Act as the global functional figurehead, influencing across all levels from shop floor to regional leadership teams and Croda’s Executive Committee.
  • Provide global leadership during product‑related crises (Level 2+), including recalls and critical compliance issues.
  • Lead and inspire global quality and regulatory teams, often without direct line responsibility, building a high‑performance culture aligned with Croda’s values.
  • Develop strong internal networks with regional leadership, fostering trust, empathy, and collaboration.
  • Deliver corporate assurance for compliance with internal policies and external standards (ISO, GMP, Product Safety, Animal Testing, etc.).
  • Maintain and manage appropriate corporate resources and skills, partnering with local and regional teams to build global talent pipelines in quality and regulatory expertise (GMP, toxicology, environment, regulatory).
Additional Information

The ideal candidate will be based within a reasonable commuting distance of our Head Office in Snaith, East Yorkshire. However, we are open to considering UK‑based remote working arrangements for the right individual.
