Job Summary

Become part of a winning team and help to deliver the Green Energy transition. As a Global Lab and System Commissioning Manager, you will manage a team of product specialists across the Engineering Delivery, NPI and Product Care functions, reporting directly to the Head of Control and Protection Verification & Validation Engineering Leader. The role includes developing department talent, managing engineering processes, providing technical guidance and mentoring, driving consistent design practices, and delivering technical solutions that meet the needs of NPI, Product Care and Project Delivery in Lab and on‑site system commissioning. Additionally, you will harmonise processes, capture lessons learned, develop design guides, tools and best practices globally.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the application of the departmental standard installation/testing, quality & HSE practices and guidelines globally.
  • Be involved from the requirements phase, ensuring requirements are SMART and testable.
  • Manage testing for the full hardware and software development lifecycle.
  • Establish a standard process to assess, review and record the testing needs and boundaries of each project to ensure the control system is verified to the maximum extent before leaving the factory.
  • Be familiar with the regulatory requirements specific to the lab and ensure all users comply with those standards.
  • Oversee laboratory safety and ensure the laboratory remains compliant with all local, state and federal regulations; document any non‑compliance incidents and abatement actions.
  • Generate standard plans, procedures and specifications for Integration System Tests, Full System Tests, Factory Acceptance Tests and Commissioning Tests at site.
  • Provide immediate feedback and correct behaviours that do not foster a good culture, contribute to unsafe behaviour, or jeopardise our achievements.
  • Ensure that standard processes, policies, and procedures are defined and adhered to across all geographical locations of the verification and validation department.
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to meet project and departmental specific objectives.
  • Prepare or contribute to the generation of standard commissioning test procedures in coordination with System Engineering / Project Validation & Verification Leads, referencing contractual requirements and international standards.
  • Gather a return of experience throughout the execution of the testing of each project and provide a conclusive report at the end of the project.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Significant and demonstrated years of experience in power generation, systems design, development and operation of control systems.
  • Demonstrable technical leadership experience.
  • Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer in the high‑voltage field.
  • Good knowledge of overall 400kV substation and HVDC systems (LCC/VSC/SVC), including control and protection systems.
  • Knowledge of overall HVDC system operating behaviour and its impact on equipment, essential for leading on‑site system testing.
  • Proven technical leadership in a complex system engineering development environment.
  • Knowledge of control and protection cubicle circuit diagrams, field cabling, protection relays, HV/MV/LV switchgear, IEDs and distributed control systems.
  • Knowledge of requirements management.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Must be able and willing to work both in the office and on sites worldwide for extended periods.
