We are seeking a senior global sales development second line leader. You will be operating within a high-growth fast moving matrix environment. You will be shaping strategy, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and developing leadership talent to accelerate the pipeline for Akamai's global security business.

Impact the future growth of our business

You will lead and influence a global team of SDRs. You will be responsible for achieving its pipeline objectives. Success requires executive presence, strategic clarity, and the ability to build alignment across senior leaders in Sales, Marketing, and GTM Operations.

As a Director Sales Development, you will be responsible for:
  • Developing and executing a Specialist SDR strategy that supports Akamai's goals and revenue targets for all product lines.
  • Defining and implementing scalable processes, tools, and best practices to optimize pipeline generation across global markets.
  • Tailoring SDR strategies to regional markets, ensuring alignment with global product positioning and go-to-market plans.
  • Partnering with sales leaders to align SDR campaigns with pipeline and revenue goals for each product line.
  • Setting and monitoring performance metrics for pipeline generation, lead conversion, and sales‑qualified opportunities.
  • Building, mentoring, and leading a high‑performing global SDR team, fostering accountability, innovation, and collaboration.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have extensive experience as a senior leader in Sales Development within enterprise software or SaaS environments.
  • Have operated as a second line manager in a matrix environment.
  • Have experience closing sales roles within enterprise software or SaaS.
  • Demonstrate a track record of achieving quota and high performance with your teams.
  • Show proven experience developing strategies that align sales and marketing goals to accelerate pipeline growth.
  • Display skills of SDR productivity tools such as Salesforce, Salesloft, ZoomInfo, TechTarget, 6Sense, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
