Job Title: GIS Technician

Location: Qatar

Qualification

• Diploma in Engineering, GIS, Geomatics, Computer Science, or IT.

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience in GIS data updates, geoprocessing, geospatial analysis, and map/chart preparation using ESRI GIS platform.
• Knowledge of oil and gas industry GIS applications is desirable.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Java, ArcPy, ArcGIS ModelBuilder, ArcGIS SDK for JavaScript).
• Experience with Drone, Multi‑station (MS60), and LiDAR data processing is an advantage.
• Familiarity with FME, Fledermaus, AutoCAD, Photoshop, image processing, and MS Office tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform GIS database updates following proper data transformation, processing, and quality assurance procedures.
• Extract, transform, and prepare geospatial data from engineering records for corporate GIS systems.
• Create and modify geodatabases and develop scripts to automate geoprocessing tasks.
• Conduct geoprocessing, coordinate system conversions, and spatial/network/3D/geostatistical analysis to support facility planning and GIS service requests.
• Create 3D terrain and feature models, including fly‑through visualizations.
• Produce high-quality cartographic maps and charts for internal business needs.
• Conduct topological and quality checks to support data integrity and evaluate contractor deliverables.
• Perform field data collection and site verification to maintain GIS accuracy.
• Serve as GIS Helpdesk support, processing access and service requests and troubleshooting technical issues under guidance.
• Assist Senior GIS Engineers with image processing and enhancement of aerial or satellite imagery.
