Responsibilities

  • Analyse client briefs and agree deliverable requirements.
  • Prepare schedules, specifications, cost estimates, and project programmes.
  • Supervise contractors for safe and timely site works.
  • Log and sample soils in accordance with British Standards.
  • Prepare and review geotechnical reports.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, Health & Safety, and CDM requirements.
  • Liaise with construction and other engineering teams.

Graduate Geotechnical Engineer

Join a market‑leading electrical engineering and infrastructure consultancy delivering high‑voltage substation and transmission projects across the UK. You'll work on some of the most complex areas of the UK's transmission and distribution network, including substation earthing, lightning protection, and grid‑connection design across 33‑400 kV programmes supporting network reinforcement and renewable integration.

Location: West Yorkshire, Hybrid.

Salary: £30 000 Basic Plus Package.

Role Description

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a specialist in electrical engineering and substation design. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join a specialist geotechnical and civil engineering team delivering projects through feasibility and design stages. You'll work closely with senior engineers, gaining hands‑on experience in site investigation, ground modelling, reporting, and design.

Your Duties
  • Analysing client briefs and agreeing deliverable requirements.
  • Preparing schedules, specifications, cost estimates, and project programmes.
  • Arranging and supervising sub-contractors to ensure safe, timely and compliant site works.
  • Logging and sampling soils in accordance with British Standards.
  • Preparing and reviewing factual and interpretive geotechnical reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Health & Safety, and CDM requirements.
  • Reviewing engineering documentation and contributing to early‑stage cost planning.
  • Liaising with construction teams, site teams, and other engineering disciplines.
