We support flexible working and are committed to an inclusive, anti‑racist environment where everyone can contribute.

Responsibilities
  • With guidance from the Principal Genetic Counsellors and medical team, help individuals and families deal with a genetic disorder by:
    • Comprehending the medical facts, including diagnosis, probable course, and available management
    • Appreciating how heredity contributes to the disorder and the risk of recurrence in relatives
    • Understanding alternatives for dealing with the risk of recurrence
    • Helping clients choose the course of action they feel is most appropriate
    • Facilitating the best possible adjustment to the disorder in an affected family member and/or the recurrence risk
  • Maintain timely access to medical and genetics expertise and screening
  • Manage your own caseload providing patient‑focused genetic counselling for a broad range of cancer predisposition conditions and predictive testing
  • Participate in research, audit, teaching, and education; contribute to ongoing professional development within the team

This is a challenging, autonomous role; ongoing professional development and opportunities for teaching and research are supported by the team.

Qualifications
