Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, genders, and backgrounds while respecting their diverse needs and medical histories.
- Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of acute and chronic illnesses using evidence-based medicine.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, specialists, and administrative staff, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Conduct routine physical exams, health screenings, and immunizations while emphasizing preventative healthcare practices.
- Create and maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems in compliance with privacy and healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients on health conditions, treatment options, medication use, and lifestyle modifications to promote well-being.
- Refer patients to specialist physicians or healthcare providers as necessary.
- Stay informed of advancements in medical research, technology, and public health initiatives to ensure the best possible care for patients.
- Contribute to ongoing training and mentoring initiatives for medical staff, junior doctors, and interns.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or MBBS) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility to practice as a General Practitioner.
- Valid medical license in the practicing location or eligibility for licensing.
- Strong diagnostic, clinical, and decision-making skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to providing equitable, patient-centered care in culturally diverse communities.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) or willingness to learn.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
Day-to-day
- Conduct patient consultations in person or via telemedicine, addressing a variety of medical concerns and monitoring ongoing treatments.
- Manage patient caseloads and prioritize timely care for urgent cases.
- Perform diagnostic tests and procedures, such as blood tests, EKGs, and minor surgery where applicable.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment and care plans.
- Lead health education initiatives, including providing resources on wellness and preventative care measures.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and training sessions to improve clinical practices and patient outcomes.
- Actively contribute to maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all patients, staff, and volunteers.
