General Operative

Location: Swindon SN3 Shifts: Mon-Fri | Early (07:00-15:00) or Late (14:45-22:45) Pay Rate: £13.28 per hour

Are you looking to build a career with a global leader in science and innovation? We are seeking dedicated General Operatives to join a world‑class manufacturing team. This is an opportunity to work in a high‑tech, regulated environment where your work directly impacts global health.

The Role

As a General Operative, you will be an essential part of the production cycle. You will work within "Classified Areas" (Cleanrooms), ensuring that life‑changing products are manufactured to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleanroom Excellence: Maintain "Bronze License" status for access to Grade C / D production areas.
  • Hygiene & Compliance: Adhere to strict gowning procedures and perform specialised cleaning of aseptic filling lines.
  • Material Handling: Assist in the transfer of materials into classified zones and manage stock levels to ensure zero expiry issues.
  • Technical Support: Operate airlocks, assist with part washers, and manage autoclave loading (following training).
  • Quality Control: Perform packaging, labelling, and in‑process weight checks while maintaining meticulous data records.
  • Monitoring: Once qualified, conduct environmental monitoring to ensure the facility meets pharmaceutical standards.
What We Are Looking For

We need methodical individuals who take pride in "getting it right the first time".

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: GCSE Maths and English (Grade C / 4 or above) or equivalent numeracy / literacy skills.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in a regulated environment is essential (e.g., Pharmaceuticals, Food, Automotive, Engineering, or Cosmetics).
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for sustained periods and lift up to 15kg (with reasonable adjustments).

Desirable Qualities:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to stay focused on repetitive, high‑stakes tasks.
  • A "Patient First" mindset—understanding that quality saves lives.
