Are you an experienced senior manager or an Account Director looking for the next step in your career? CBW is assisting a market leader in the hard FM market in their search for a General Manager to work across a collection of high profile contracts covering Bristol, London and Essex. The role is critical to the successful day‑to‑day operation of the contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.

- Ability to manage conflict and crisis situations effectively.
- Provide leadership and ensure the planned development of a portfolio of contracts to meet and exceed contractual commitments.
- Explore opportunities for strategic development of contracts to deliver increased turnover and profitability.
- Ensure business policies and processes are effectively communicated and implemented within contracts.
- Ensure additional services and projects are added and that contracts are re‑won on re‑tender.
- Develop financial plans for revenue and profit delivery, reduce WIP, debt, cost and drive contract growth.
- Ensure appropriate contract review, audit and control systems to meet statutory, policy and contractual commitments.
- Maintain a customer focus within all operational activities and effective relationships with key client contacts.
- Accountable day‑to‑day to relevant client contacts.
- Line management responsibility for a small team of contract managers.
- Financial responsibility for delivery of plan commitments for the contract portfolio.
- Develop and review teams, appraisal and apply effective people‑management practice.

Applicants Must Meet
- Hard services background with recognised electrical or mechanical qualifications.
- Managerial experience at Account Manager level or above within technical and/or hard services (essential).
- Proven experience within the commercial maintenance industry.
- Experience within the government or public sector beneficial.
- Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and clients.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload.
