General Accountant

£31,000 per annum + Service Charge (Around £5000 Annually)

About Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars

Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars is located directly outside Blackfriars station, a few minutes away from Bank and is a short stroll from St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Tate Modern and South Bank. The Grade II-listed five-star hotel is steeped in regal history, residing on the former grounds of King Henry VIII's Bridewell Palace. The hotel offers 205 stylish guest rooms and suites, 4 meeting spaces, 2 restaurants and 1 signature bar.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, and General Cashier functions.
  • Liaising with the Shared Services team to ensure timely delivery and follow-up of all relevant dependencies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Cash and Key Security procedures, including daily banking responsibilities and reconciliation of automated cash machine balances.
  • Prepare and post daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries to the accounting system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reconcile revenue figures, ensuring financial data is complete, accurate, and in compliance with internal policies.
  • Lead and coordinate Monthly Credit Meetings, including preparation and distribution of detailed minutes and action summaries.
  • Collaborate effectively with Sales, Front Office, and other relevant departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and account-related queries.
  • Support the Assistant Director of Finance in the preparation and posting of month-end journal entries and closing activities.
  • Participate in reviews during MOR, internal, and external audit processes with the ADOF/DOF.
  • Carry out all ad hoc tasks and financial assignments as directed by the Director of Finance.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance (Preferred)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in hotel finance or hospitality accounting
  • Hands-on experience with Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, and General Cashiering
  • Proven experience in using Opera PMS and Micros systems.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies and risks proactively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
