Job summary

A community-focused organization is seeking a Funeral Service Crew member. In this part-time role, you will professionaly collect and prepare the deceased, support families during a challenging time, and maintain vehicle cleanliness among other duties. The ideal candidate will hold a full UK manual driving license and exhibit a sensitive approach to customer service. Funeral Service Crew

£12.79 per hour plus benefits

Part time 18.75 hours per week, 5 days per week – working a variety of shifts Monday to Friday 8am-8pm, including on‑call rota.

Location: Edinburgh EH16 5UY.

What you’ll do
  • Collect the deceased from a range of locations and scenarios in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Bear coffins and drive funeral vehicles.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
  • Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
  • Prepare the deceased in our care for viewings and the funeral.
This role would suit people who have
  • A full UK manual driving licence.
  • A sensitive approach to customer service with good attention to detail.
  • The ability to react calmly and compassionately in emotional circumstances.
  • The ability to perform the physical aspects of the role (manual lifting).
