Financial Controller (Interim) - Weston-super-Mare

1-Year Fixed Term Contract - Starting in January 2026

Salary: Dependent on Experience - Willing to negotiate based on the individual.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Financial Controller to join our team in Weston-super-Mare on a 1-year fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of a busy dealership group, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and commercial success.

About the Role

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the dealership's financial processes, supporting senior management with clear and accurate reporting, and ensuring robust financial controls are in place. You'll lead the accounts team, provide guidance to management, and play a vital role in maintaining strong financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the dealership's accounts team.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts and reports.
• Oversee budget preparation, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular financial reviews with the General Manager and senior leadership.
• Monitor working capital, cash flow, and stock control.
• Liaise with auditors, manufacturers, and external stakeholders.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement stronger financial controls.

About You

• A qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant financial leadership experience.
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller within the automotive industry is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Confident leader with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Commercially focused with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
• A proactive problem-solver with integrity and drive.
