A dynamic Main Contractor is seeking a Freelance Senior/Quantity Surveyor for a new shopping centre project in the West Midlands. The role offers a rate of £450-£550 per day and requires extensive experience in retail projects and a full UK driving licence. This long-term project is set to last at least 24 months, starting in January 2026.

Qualifications

• Must have substantial experience in retail project surveying.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a team on large projects.

Responsibilities

• Completing monthly CVRs on site to ensure the project is on track.
• Travelling to site 4 days a week to track progress and working 1 day from home.
• Dealing with variations quickly and effectively to stay within budget.

Skills

Experience working as a Senior/ Quantity Surveyor on retail projects

Full UK driving licence

Experience working within a team of QS's on larger sized projects

The company:

Our client is a dynamic Main Contractor specialising across a multitude of sectors including, Commercial, Retail, Industrial and Education projects across the Midlands with projects typically ranging between £20m to £100m in contract values.

The role:

The client is looking for a Freelance Senior/ Quantity surveyor to join a £80 million contract, working on the construction of a brand-new shopping centre within the West Midlands area. The project is expected to last at least 24 months and commences at the beginning of January 2026.

Key responsibilities:

• Completing monthly CVRs on site to ensure the project is on track.
• Travelling to site 4 days a week to track progress and working 1 day from home.
• Dealing with variations quickly and effectively to stay within budget.

Criteria:

• Experience working as a Senior/ Quantity Surveyor on retail projects. (Essential)
• Full UK driving licence. (Essential)
• Experience working within a team of QS's on larger sized projects. (Preferred)
