FRA Carpenter Manager / Supervisor – Passive Fire Protection

Sector: Social Housing / Residential

Contract Type: Permanent / Contract (depending on experience)

Salary: Competitive + company vehicle / allowance

We are seeking an experienced FRA Carpenter Manager / Supervisor with a strong background in Passive Fire Protection to manage and deliver fire safety remediation works across social housing and residential properties.

This is a hands‑on leadership role, ideal for a qualified Fire Risk Assessor (FRA), Supervisor, or Passive Fire Protection Manager with a carpentry trade background, who can confidently oversee fire door installations, maintenance, fire stopping, and compartmentation works on multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, manage, and coordinate teams of carpenters and subcontractors across multiple projects and sites.
  • Oversee fire door installations, remedial works, inspections, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Manage and monitor fire stopping and compartmentation works in line with FRA requirements.
  • Ensure all works comply with current fire safety legislation, building regulations, and third‑party accreditation standards (e.g. BM Trada, FIRAS).
  • Carry out quality inspections, audits, and sign‑off of completed works.
  • Review and manage RAMS, deliver toolbox talks, and ensure strong Health & Safety compliance at all times.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, residents, housing officers, and internal project teams to ensure smooth delivery within occupied properties.
  • Complete site reports, compliance documentation, and photographic evidence using the company’s digital systems.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a Supervisory or Management role within FRA remediation, passive fire protection, or fire door works.
  • Strong carpentry background (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferred).
  • Excellent knowledge of fire door standards, passive fire protection, fire stopping, and compartmentation.
  • Solid understanding of current fire safety regulations and British Standards.
  • Experience working within social housing and occupied properties is highly desirable.
  • Relevant certifications such as FIRAS, BM Trada, IOSH, or NEBOSH are highly regarded.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills, with confidence using digital reporting systems.
  • Full UK driving licence (company vehicle provided where applicable).
