A leading legal tech firm is seeking a Forward Deployed Analyst to support legal operations through data analysis and project management. This role involves high-quality data reporting, operational support, and system troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience, a proactive approach, and comfort with data tools. The position offers a hybrid working model, with regular in-office collaboration.
Flank is an agentic system built for legal work. We enable legal teams to create on-demand legal agents grounded in their knowledge and expertise.
Unlike standard tools, our agents are deployed to the entire business to respond directly to policy Q&A, draft key documents, and review contracts. They generate high quality, consistent legal deliverables end-to-end based on rules and templates – handling everything from NDAs & low-risk vendor paper to automated negotiations and triaging requests.
Crucially, the system is controlled by legal. Our agents work 24/7, operating under supervision and within guardrails customers define, and routing only exceptions to legal for review. Every request and action is transparent & auditable, ensuring customers have full visibility over their automated workforce.
Department: Forward Deployed Team
Reports to: Forward Deployed Lead (Taariq Ismail)
Location: London Area (preferably ~1.5 hr commute to London).
Working Model: Hybrid (regularly 1 day/week in-office + ad-hoc collaboration sprints/weeks).
Employment Type: Full-Time
As a Forward Deployed Analyst, you will operate at the intersection of legal operations, data analysis, and solution engineering.
You will act as the right hand of the Forward Deployed Lead, taking ownership of the critical operational work required to scale our deployments. Initially, this means handling the heavy lifting: data cleaning/analysis, deck creation, project management and troubleshooting.
You need to be commercial enough to understand ROI, technical enough to speak to Engineering, and empathetic enough to guide lawyers through change management.
You are a builder who is happy to get their hands dirty with data and operations today. As you master the platform and the process, this role is a path to ownership: you will graduate to leading end-to-end onboardings for enterprise customers and ALSP partners.
1. Operational Support & Analysis
Data Analysis: You will own the data reporting for our customers. This means pulling raw usage logs, cleaning the data, and analysing performance to prove ROI (e.g., "Turnaround Time" or "Accuracy").
Asset Creation: You will build the high-quality slide decks and reporting assets used in weekly meetings or Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and partner updates.
Project Management: You will maintain our internal trackers and deployment documentation, ensuring every customer status is accurate and up to date.
2. Implementation & Configuration
Hands-on Deployment: You will configure agents in the platform, ingesting playbooks and templates, and refining guidance to ensure high-quality outputs.
Troubleshooting: You will act as the first line of defense for configuration issues, investigating why an agent "failed" a task and figure out the fix before escalating to Engineering.
3. Partner Operations:
Supporting ALSPs: You will set up the infrastructure and documentation required for ALSPs/MSPs to deploy Flank agents. You will triage technical queries and ensure partners have everything they need to minimise friction in their delivery.
4. Automation & Systematisation
Automate the Boring Stuff: You have an allergy to doing the same manual task twice. You will use LLMs, scripts, or no-code tools (e.g. Zapier) to turn manual processes into reusable templates and automated workflows.
Build Tools: You will build simple internal tools that help the FD team move faster, moving us away from "one-off spreadsheets" to scalable systems.
5. Shadowing & Growth (The Future)
This role is a pathway to the Forward Deployed Strategist profile. As you master the operational basics, you will begin to own:
Technical Discovery & Process Mining: You will move from documenting requirements to leading workflow mapping sessions, working with enterprise legal teams to unpick their manual processes and translate them into logical agent architectures. You will eventually drive system integration discussions, defining how Flank connects with tools like Slack, Jira, and CLMs.
Change Management & Adoption: You will learn how to help lawyers trust the machine. Over time, you will define the adoption strategy, identifying "power users" within customer teams and managing the transition from manual work to agent-led workflows.
Scalability: You will graduate from using our templates to creating them, building the knowledge base assets and template libraries that allow us to deploy faster with every new customer.
Experience: You have 1-2 years of professional experience in a high-velocity environment (Ops, Business Analyst, or Systems Integration), OR a track record of substantial, high-ownership internships (9-12+ months).
Proactive and Creative: You are comfortable building things. You might not be a software engineer, but you know how to use LLMs to write scripts, or you are a wizard with No-Code tools. You naturally reach for AI to solve problems.
Data Driven & Detail Oriented: You are happy doing the grunt work if it leads to the right answer. You are comfortable cleaning data sets in Excel/Sheets and building precise, error-free presentations.
Execution First: You have a bias for action. You are detail-oriented and take pride in delivering polished work that doesn't need to be double-checked.
Location: You are based in London or within a ~1.5 hour commute, and are willing to come into the office 1x per week for high-bandwidth collaboration.
Exposure to the Legal industry or Legal Ops.
Experience in a "Forward Deployed" or Implementation role at a SaaS company.
