Job Title

FLT Driver/Material Handler

Hours

8am – 16.00 Mon – Fri (30 min lunch unpaid – 37.5 hrs full time).

This may change to Days and Afternoons in the future: 6.00am to 2 pm, 2pm to 10 pm.

Location

Dyfed Steels Ltd (Laser Cutting Dept Unit A, Parc Bedwas Industrial Estate, Caerphilly).

Dyfed Steels Ltd is a thriving family business offering you a chance to be part of our friendly team. We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our Laser Cutting Dept at New Bedwas Depot.

Responsibilities

• Receive goods in, load and unload trucks/trailers.
• Trans‑ship goods.
• Movement of stock from the goods‑in area.
• Moving material to and from laser cutting machines.
• Cleaning and maintaining the equipment; yard will also be part of the daily routine.
• Following workplace health and safety rules.
• Experience working in a yard is required.
• Safe and efficient loading/unloading from 3rd party/companies HGV vehicles and vans.
• Be proficient in the unloading and loading of various trailer types – straight frame and double deck trailers.

Key Requirements

• Current forklift licence.
• Proficient in the use of a 5‑ton Combiforklift to unload 7.5‑m bundles of steel.
• Proficient in the use of a 3‑ton counter‑balance lift to load and unload pallets.
• 10‑ton overhead crane experience would be an advantage (training will be given).
• Current forklift truck licence preferred.

Job Type

Full‑time after 3 months probation.
