A regional police force is offering an unpaid student placement for Forensic Science students in the East Midlands. Candidates will gain hands-on experience, undertaking tasks like clerical duties, providing customer service, and managing exhibits. This is a unique opportunity to work with the Forensic Services team, requiring applicants to be studying a relevant course and have resided in the UK for the past five years. Join the Forensic Services team at East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) on a Student Placement to get hands‑on experience of a career in a fascinating and fast‑paced field.
This is an unpaid placement for 10 months, based at various locations and labs in the vicinity of junction 27 of the M1, Nottinghamshire, or with our CSI teams in Derby, Chesterfield, Ripley or Leicestershire.

This post requires regular access to sensitive material and applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo enhanced security clearance before taking up the post. The material may be of sensitivity to the UK and may therefore be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances, dual nationals (of which one element is British) may be granted access. However, if potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed, the post holder will not be permitted access the systems or material required for the role and will not therefore be able to perform their duties. For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or achieve the required levels of security clearance requirements cannot be offered the post.
