About the Role

TimePlan Education are currently seeking a dedicated and well-organised Design & Technology Technician to join a supportive secondary school in Forest Gate from January 2026. This role will predominantly be based within the Food Technology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing ingredients, materials, and equipment for Food Technology lessons
  • Assisting teachers during practical sessions and demonstrations
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment in line with food hygiene and health & safety regulations
  • Monitoring stock levels and placing orders where necessary
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and food hygiene standards
  • Supporting general departmental tasks as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous experience in a technician role or working within a school food technology or DT setting
  • A good understanding of food hygiene, health & safety, and COSHH regulations
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through TimePlan)
