FLT Operative Night Shift

FLT or Telehandler (will accept an in house certificate) or significant experience is required.

Location: Newport NP11 area
Pay Rate: £13.60 per hour | weekly pay every Friday
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5pm-4am NIGHT shift

We're recruiting for a reliable and hardworking FLT Operative to support operations at secure waste recycling facility in Newport.

This role goes beyond just operating a forklift — we're looking for someone who's hands‑on and willing to get stuck in with general yard duties when needed.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Operating a Counterbalance FLT & Telehandler safely and efficiently
• Assisting with manual yard work (e.g., sweeping, loading/unloading)
• Keeping the yard clean, tidy, and safe at all times
• Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport bales
• Loading and unloading bales from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling techniques are followed
• Conducting routine inspections of forklifts and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and complete daily check sheets
• Emptying any bins of material within the plant as directed
• Ensuring all bales are stacked in a safe and appropriate manner
• Collaborating with team members to ensure a smooth workflow in the waste reception environment
• Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment

What We're Looking For:

• A valid FLT Counterbalance & Telehandler licence with recent experience, in‑house licence honoured
• A strong work ethic and willingness to do manual labour
• A team player who's reliable and punctual
• Someone who can follow instructions and take initiative
