Job summary

A leading manufacturer of construction components is seeking an experienced FLT driver and material handler in Dudley. The role involves loading and unloading deliveries, assisting with product movements, and maintaining production lines. Candidates must have a FLT Counterbalance and overhead crane licence, with relevant engineering experience. The successful applicant will be required to move to a new facility in Worcester in late 2026. This position offers daytime hours between 07:00 am and 19:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience in an engineering environment.
• FLT Counterbalance (6 tonne) licence required.
• Overhead / pendant crane licence required.

Responsibilities

• Use FLT Counterbalance to load and unload deliveries.
• Assist with the movement of finished products to the warehouse.
• Load/unload steel coils using an overhead crane.

Job description

Our client is a leading manufacturer of construction components within the UK. Due to increasing product demand they are looking to recruit an experienced FLT driver and material handler to join its established team in the Dudley area with the view to moving to its brand new facility in Worcester late 2026.

Duties will include but not be limited to :

• Use a FLT Counterbalance to load and unload deliveries and move materials into warehouse and deal with associated paperwork.
• Assist with movement of finished product to warehouse using FLT counterbalance.
• Load / unload steel coils using overhead crane.
• Remove banding and packaging from coils and dispose of safely.
• Banding and strapping of unused raw materials from press lines.
• Ensure production lines are fully stocked with raw materials.

Applicants must have previous experience within an engineering environment and hold the following licences. Must also be aware that they will be required to move to the Worcester site from end of 2026.

FLT Counterbalance (6 tonne) Essential

Overhead / pendant crane licence - Essential

Raw material / stock control experience - Essential

FLT Reach licence - Beneficial

Hours of work will be days between 07.00am and 19.00pm.
