Qualifications

Join our Chemicals Technology Group - Flow Assurance

The Chemicals Technology Group at Baker Hughes is focused on technical support for our scale, paraffin, asphaltene and hydrate inhibitor business. The purpose of this role is to support our R&D efforts and our Sales/Operations team undertaking projects for product selection, performance testing, troubleshooting and field support. The role involves developing knowledge and understanding of all product types and applications supported by the group

You will also be responsible for:
  • Plan, perform testing, and problem solve in a lab and field environment
  • Assess results for applicability, validity and conformance to specifications.
  • Help develop new methods and products.
  • Prepare test reports and communicate results in person and/or in writing
  • Ensure compliance with all HSE and Quality requirements
  • Perform field support as and when required to meet the needs of the business
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
To be successful in the role you will have:
  • Degree level or above in Chemistry or related subject
  • Experience in conducting a variety of laboratory testing
  • Interpersonal skills, ability to work with a wide range of individuals in a variety of positions within a number of organisations where there may be a need to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, coaching, mentoring, negotiating and a number of other people skills.
  • Communication skills (ability to communicate over the phone, in writing, via email and face to face) both internally and externally with other Baker Hughes personnel, customers and suppliers, both locally and remotely
  • Analytical and problem solving skill and ability to self-motivate
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Ability to work unsupervised on their own in remote locations and onsite at third party sites
  • Some experience of Oil and Gas Production chemistry is preferred but not essential
