A leading vehicle maintenance provider in Wakefield is seeking a Fleet Vehicle Mechanic on a full-time temporary contract. You will support the maintenance of compliance with roadworthiness and mechanical safety standards for fleets, including police and partner organizations. Job Description:

Fleet Vehicle Mechanic needed in Wakefield, £34,434 pa PAYE

Reference: 000A 4EBA / 1

Purpose of Role:

  • Support Workshop Controllers to maintain roadworthiness and mechanical safety standards for clients including Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO), Police, and partner fleets, ensuring compliance with legal requirements such as Operators Licences, DVSA Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness, and Health & Safety Legislation, including LOLER / PUWER Regulations.
  • Maintain the clients' DVSA Earned Recognition standards accreditation.
  • Perform economical and efficient repair and maintenance of diverse vehicle, plant, and equipment fleets, including privately owned vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory safety and roadworthiness standards for vehicles, plant, and machinery.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Corporate Climate Change Action Plan and support Fleet Decarbonisation initiatives across all service areas for the client.

This is a full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
