Fitter Fabricator

We’re currently seeking a Fitter Fabricator to join our maintenance team. This hands‑on role is key to ensuring the performance and safety of our kiln car systems – the critical transport units that move bricks in and out of our kilns and dryers.

Location: Ewhurst Full-Time | Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm (40 hours / week). Client offers flexibility for you to start earlier or later if you choose to.

£35,000 – £37,000 per year (including allowances and bonuses)

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Repairing and maintaining steelwork and main frames of kiln cars
  • Performing basic welding and tacking
  • Straightening kiln car decks and replacing damaged refractory blocks
  • Maintaining stock levels of key materials
  • Repairing and greasing kiln car axles and wheels
  • Stripping and rebuilding kiln car refractory structures
  • Conducting running repairs and lubrication
  • Recording material usage and maintaining accurate stock & repair records
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys hands‑on, physical work and takes pride in maintaining high standards. You’ll also need:

  • Basic welding and fabrication experience
  • The ability to read and interpret fabrication engineering drawings
  • A flexible, team‑oriented attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment
  • Good general safety awareness and a commitment to safe working practices
  • Physical fitness to perform manual tasks regularly
Ideal background

Welder Fabricator, Mechanical Fitter, Sheet Metal Worker, Grinder, Maintenance Fitter, maintenance engineer plater / plating or Trailer Body Builder.
