Job summary

As a Fine Art Warehouse Technician at Crozier, you'll be at the forefront of safeguarding priceless artistic creations within our storage facility. You'll expertly handle, pack, and prepare a diverse range of valuable artworks, including paintings, sculptures, antiquities, textiles, and contemporary installations, for secure storage, transit, and release. Your responsibilities will extend to precisely documenting each artwork's journey and establishing its secure location within our inventory management system, encompassing meticulous condition reporting, supporting seamless goods in and goods out processes, and upholding the highest standards of art care.

Your role in our mission:
  • Safely handle, move, and prepare diverse artworks within the warehouse following strict protocols.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing art shipments, including unpacking, meticulous packing, and crating for secure storage or transit.
  • Conduct thorough condition reports for artworks upon arrival and departure, applying appropriate preservation techniques.
  • Maintain an organised and secure warehouse environment, ensuring optimal storage and operating industry-standard equipment safely.
  • Collaborate with art professionals and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution of all art storage and logistics projects.
Valued skills and experience:
  • Previous experience working as a Fine Art Technician, Art Handler, or in a similar role within a fine art storage or logistics environment. This could include roles in white glove removals, freight or cargo operations dealing with high-value or luxury items, or other warehouse operations focused on the logistics and storage of high-value items.
  • Proficiency in handling various art mediums, including paintings, sculptures, antiques, and contemporary art pieces.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of precision and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
  • Physical fitness and the capability to lift heavy objects and artworks, as well as the willingness to work in various settings, including tight spaces and heights.
